Goodbye Car

Well the title may be a bit premature since I still own my car.  However, it will soon no longer be mine.  It blew a gasket (I'm not really sure what that means), but it will cost more to fix than my car is worth.  It's still sitting at Big O Tires, where I got it checked out since they thought I would stall on the way home.  As I was coming off the freeway, there was some extreme vibration happening, so I decided to stop by Big O.  The car and I have been together about 10 years, although 3 years with very little driving.  Bye bye and thanks for the memories.

Wedding photography update

We decided not to go with sense of light and Keith Nelson due to a bad review from a friend.  While we were there, I saw someone I knew in one of the photos.  The wedding was that of his sister and I was able to get in contact with them today.  They said Keith was unprofessional and the photos only turned out ok, not spectacular like those on the website.  Thanks for everyone's opinions!  Right now we're learning more towards Kelvin due to the price difference . . .

I'm embarassed to Xanga because . . .

. . .there has been so little progress made on our wedding planning.  Ok so some has been made, but not the two main ones I mentioned earlier - the save the date cards and the photography.

Wenyin has kindly volunteered to make our save the date cards.  Also my cousin decided she is getting married next Memorial Day weekend so my mom stopped pressuring me to send those out.

Yesterday Tony and I talked with 6 wedding photographers.  We narrowed it down to 3.  Here are the websites of the 3 we liked best.

If you have time to view them, let me know which is your favorite.  While we were reviewing photos at one of the places, I saw a picture of one of my old friends from the church I went to in h.s.  The photographer did his sister's wedding last year.  I emailed him earlier today - I hope he emails me back soon since we want to make a decision soon.  There are different reasons we liked these 3 best and different positives and negatives about each one.  I told Tony that he would have to decide in the end . . .I am leaning towards one of the more expensive ones.  Of the 6 photographers we saw, the prices ranged from $2000-$5000.  We eliminated the two cheaper ones since their photos were more ordinary (including my sister's wedding photographer) and one of them I didn't like personality-wise.

These past weeks I've been working from home.  I think I will be back in LA next week, but we'll see.

I'm starting the feel much better, thanks for the well wishes.  It looks like I will be back at work later this week (if working from home) or next week.  Yippee.  Since I've been feeling better I decided that I should do some wedding planning and then I realized I'm getting married in 7 months.  Eeek!  There's still a lot to do.  Number 1 on the list is finding a church.  We've found our reception site, but not our church.  Number 2 is finding a wedding dress.  Both #1 and #2 have backup plans.  If we can't find a church, we can get married at our reception site and if I can't find a dress I like, I can wear my sister's dress.

There are two things that we need to do soon, which don't have backup plans -

1.  Send out save the date cards, Sunday September 3, 2006 for those of you who don't know.

2.  Find a photographer

On another semi-related note, I'm excited that I get to plan Hege's bridal shower, the second weekend in March.  I'm really looking forward to it!
